Mission

The Merion Square Scout house is a Class 1 historic building in the Gladwyne Historic District. The iconic structure was originally built in 1884 as a mission chapel for Bryn Mawr Baptist Church. In 1961, after being shuttered for several years, through an anonymous donation it was purchased to promote scouting and provide a meeting place for scouts in the Local area.

What We Do

The goal and mission was to build civic awareness and responsibility in our youth and to promote and instill the importance of providing service to their community and country. Today the Scout House is home to the most energetic and thriving scout communities in the region and we continue to serve about 130-175 youth, their siblings, parents and leaders (including 23 % minorities), from all over the Main Line, every year, at no cost to them
