Project details

What we need
  • An expert evaluation of the Organization’s website compared against usability best practices in order to assess an optimal user-friendly and intuitive layout.
  • Note: This project does not include feedback on website content - only usability
Additional details

We need updates to our website so it looks less homemade, also a way for website viewers to subscribe to our mailchimp newsletter. Our "Meet the team" page needs to be update to include our advisory board, pictures & affiliations). We are looking for advice on the best way to make these changes. Should we continue on Google Domains, with Google Site Builder, or use a different hosting platform?

What we have in place
  • When we first brought our website on line, with the help of a small, local company, they moved the website off Google Domains Names Servers, and the MX records stopped working and our email (through G-suite) stopped working. We want to avoid that happening again.
How this will help
This project will save us $5,665 , allowing us to allowing us to employ an outreach aide, provide our client families with door-to-door transportation (many are afraid to go out at night), provide supper for group leaders & families to share.

We provide free trauma-informed behavioral health services to families in Chester that have been bereaved by homicide or where someone has been assaulted. We need to become better known in the community. We need health professionals who can make referrals to us to know about us. We need to be able to present ourselves to potential donors.

Our mission

To heal the psychological and emotional impact of homicides and reduce trauma-related reactive violence in the City of Chester, PA

What we do

We provide trauma-informed therapy to City of Chester families where a loved one has been assaulted or murdered. Participating families receive case-management support, as well as door-to-door transportation to appointments, childcare, and supper on therapy nights.

We also work collaboratively with other violence prevention organizations to enhance the collective impact of our work to transform the City of Chester.

We believe wholeheartedly in the possibility of recovery from trauma, we believe in the creativity and resilience of our community, and we also believe in our capacity to create change.
