Hello! EduCare's Co-Founder authored a remarkable curriculum, "Making-The-Best of Me", many years ago. With the changing educational climate, we have discovered the need to digitize the print version of the book, and determine best publishing & marketing opportunities for the book.

It's a teaching guide, student workbook, manual for facilitators in the Social-Emotional learning field.

We have several Catchafire projects, and this one is to help with creating the book format, look & feel!

What we have in place
  • We have available print and electronic versions of the book, and an initial design format from another Catchafire volunteer which should help you to get started. We also have lots of photos from our programs and various projects, and the ability to provide any other information you need.
How this will help
This project will save us $3,002 , allowing us to continue providing hundreds of students safe, high quality programs after school.

Digitizing MTBM will allow it to be easily distributed, and will provide an instant best-practice for educational professionals. The world needs materials that focus on a heart-centered and whole person approach to working with young people, and this book is cutting edge, and one-of-a-kind. Updating and digitizing it will make it easier to distribute and use.

Working as a group on Catchafire
Group projects and calls on Catchafire are a great way for you to make an impact and build stronger relationships with your team members! If you are applying to this opportunity as a group, we recommend you have one designated team lead apply for the project on your group's behalf and act as the primary point of contact with the volunteer manager. When applying, be sure you already have a team organized so that you can start the project soon after matching.
Before applying as a group:
  • Have all group members identified and ready to volunteer
  • Pick one group member to act as a team lead and point of contact with the organization
  • Identify any tools you could use to effectively collaborate together (e.g. chat, email, whiteboarding tools)

Prep: Distribution of Prep Materials
  • Volunteer Manager provides the Professional with a budget for print materials, finalized copy, high-resolution logo and any visual branding guidelines to be utilized
  • Volunteer Manager also provides images for desired deliverables (if applicable), examples of existing marketing materials and links to online presence (website and social media)
  • Volunteer Manager shares brand messaging guidelines (if applicable)

Milestone 1: Preliminary Concepts
  • Professional and Volunteer Manager discuss how print materials will be utilized, target audience, and style preferences
  • Professional develops preliminary sketches, and garners feedback from Volunteer Manager

Milestone 2: Graphic Creation
  • Professional drafts print materials, and incorporates any feedback into final product

Milestone 3: Final Draft
  • Professional delivers final versions in desired electronic format
  • Professional provides guidance on printing specifications (colors, size, etc.)
