It increases awareness and educates communities policymakers and advocates to the impact of solitary confinement on one of our youth Caucus members who has a mental health disability young man with a mental health disability who was incarcerated and spent time in solitary confinement.
NJPC is a statewide coalition of family members and impacted youth whose mission is to ensure that every family who has children with special emotional and behavioral needs is given an opportunity to play a strong and active role in the conceptualization, development and delivery of effective and timely services for their children within the mental health, juvenile justice and child welfare systems.
