Project details

What we need
  • Significant update to Organization’s existing CMS website, such as adding a new page, customizing a theme, adjusting layout, etc.
  • Smaller update to Organization's non-CMS website
Additional details

Our website is currently through wordpress and we would love to keep it that way! It's the easiest for our team members to continue adding things as we continue to grow.

We would like to add a log in based system that will have different types of memberships that requires users to log in before using our website's resources

We are also looking to add searchability functions where users can search through four different categories and be recommended videos based on ones they have watched.

What we have in place
  • We currently have Wifreframes, which should make it easy for you to get started. We also have metadata of videos that go onto our website, and the ability to provide any other information you need.
How this will help
This project will save us $19,306 , allowing us to support our mission of providing many platforms for immigrants/refugees to do first person storytelling.

Green Card Voices is constantly growing. We love serving as a resource to schools, organizations and just everyday people to better cultivate and grow empathy around immigrant/refugee populations through storytelling.Having a website that is completely functional and and able to grow as we continue to grow.

Our mission

Green Card Voices is a non-profit organization that records and shares first person narratives of America's immigrants. We work to facilitate a better understanding between immigrant and non-immigrant communities through the art of storytelling.
Our dynamic, multimedia materials are designed to empower a variety of educational institutions, community groups and individuals alike to acquire first-person perspectives about immigrants' lives, increasing the appreciation of the immigrant experience in America.

What we do

We're traveling the country and listening to those with the courage to share their journey, documenting each story in an authentic and unbiased way. America has 43 million immigrants, and Green Card Voices works to share their diverse stories and experiences, to show the incredible breadth of the immigrant population. Once recorded, these stories are shared via our website and social media platforms, as well as in books and traveling exhibits.

Immigrants have played a vital role at each turn in our nation's history, and they continue to do so today. By sharing these stories, we can instill a sense of pride in our nation's immigrant population and thank them for all of their contributions.

Testimonials

Vish was such an easy person to work with! Not only was he timely with all requests and questions but he also took the time to teach us how to do certain things on the website. What was meant to be a couple of months, turned into a project that took the entire summer and into the fall and Vish was very flexible with everything. Very nice, very helpful and just an overall great person.
