Individual Donor Letter
Individual Donor Letter
Project details
What we need
- A concise, well-articulated letter (not exceeding two pages) to request funds from individual donors
Additional details
Hi there. I'm posting this job from the Monell Center in Philadelphia, a nonprofit biomedical research institute that studies taste and smell. You may know us from the iconic public sculpture in front of our building at 35th and Market. We are right now being thrust into the global discussion about COVID-19, using our expertise to understand the connection between smell loss and the Coronavirus. Our research today could lessen the impact of this pandemic as well as other viral diseases.
What we have in place
- We currently have previous appeals and photographs and other images, which should make it easy for you to get started. We also have staff eager to do something new and different, and the ability to provide any other information you need.
How this will help
This project will save us $2,140 , allowing us to support our urgent research.
We are looking for a talented individual with development communications experience to write our mid-year appeal: a multichannel -- print and email -- appeal to raise funds to support biomedical research. It is one of two major appeals. This year, we have the added urgency of doing research into the role of smell loss in the COVID-19 pandemic.
Project plan
Our mission
A leader in scientific discovery, the Monell Chemical Senses Center expands our fundamental understanding of taste and smell - the chemical senses - through research, training, and communication.
What we do
The Center's cutting-edge research identifies the underlying mechanisms of taste and smell and probes their involvement in appetite, nutrition, and disease to benefit human health and well-being.
In its role as a nonprofit, Monell provides a comprehensive resource for information and serves as an unbiased authority on the science of taste and smell.
Testimonials
This was a good project. Pabitra was great to work with. He came up with a compelling solution to our project. And, I was able to leverage the creative skills of another Catchafire volunteer to bring the project to completion
