Project details

What we need
  • A professionally designed report, up to 10 pages, in high-resolution format (jpeg, pdf, etc.)
  • Accurate, print-ready specifications
Additional details

In 2018 we released a report on representations of race in local news media, called Shaping our Stories. In 2020, we re-issued the survey and now have results that need to be developed into a written report.

What we have in place
  • We currently have 2020 data including charts, graphs and copy, which should make it easy for you to get started. We also have the original report from 2018, and the ability to provide any other information you need.
How this will help
This project will save us $4,817 , allowing us to deliver presentations and training recommended in the final report. This original report was printed on our in-house color printer; these savings will allow us to get it professionally printed.

Rochester, NY, made national news in 2020 after the death of Danial Prude in police custody. This experience caused a major shift in our community perceptions of race and other relating issues. Representations of race in local media have a significant impact on how a community sees itself. The data from our survey highlights the major issues and provides recommendations. Sharing the results and how to implement our recommendations will have a significant impact on our community.
